Do some research on Google to indentify blogs in your industry. You may be surprised by the amount of blogs that show up. Reading these blogs is a great way to keep up with the latest buzz in your industry, and commenting is an effective way send targeted visitors to your website. Blog Commenting works for life science marketing. Let me explain.

By using the name of your business to post a comment that meets a need for your target market, you’re putting yourself in a position to attract those targeted blog readers to the person who posted that helpful comment (i.e. your website). By providing a thoughtful, helpful comment, you’re also positioning yourself as an expert in that subject while engaging with the blogger (who is probably an expert in your industry) and his or her network of blog readers.

Here’s an example: I find a good blog in the biotech industry and I submit a comment to one of the blog posts/articles under the name of my business Empirical Life Science Marketing. Assuming the blogger accepts my comment, it is now linked to his/her blog post indefinitely, and everyone who reads the comments will see my comment along with the name of my business. If my comment meets a need for the reader, then he/she may want to learn more about what I have to say and do a Google search for Empirical Life Science Marketing.

Try this approach with several different blogs. You may be pleasantly surprised with the targeted traffic that comes to your website over time.
